WEDDING DJ FAQs

How much do you charge for a wedding?

Every wedding is different, I don’t have a one size fits all rate. Send an inquiry by clicking the button below and let’s chat.

What makes you different from other DJs?

Reliability and preparation are everything to me. I arrive about four hours before every event to set up, sound check, and troubleshoot so the music is flawless from the moment guests arrive. I bring backup equipment ensuring there’s never a gap in coverage. I coordinate with your planner well in advance, and stay in close contact with your vendor team the day of.

What’s the booking process like?

It’s straightforward. Fill out the inquiry form and we’ll schedule a call. When you’re ready to book, I’ll send you a link to your client portal, where you review and sign the contract. Once I countersign, you pay the deposit right in the portal, and your date is booked. From there, the rest of the portal opens up, including your planning questionnaire for formalities, must-plays, and do-not-plays.

What happens if you get sick or can’t make it?

I’ve never missed a wedding, and it would take something close to the rapture for that to happen. That said, I’m prepared for anything. If I’m ever too sick to perform, I have a few solid backup DJs I trust completely. I’d walk them through your music plan and give them everything they need so nothing falls through the cracks. If for any reason you’re not comfortable with the replacement and there’s enough time, I’ll refund you in full right away.

How does the music planning process work, and how involved do we need to be?

It starts with getting to know you. We discuss your vibe and vision. Once you’re booked, you fill out the planning questionnaire in your client portal, covering formalities, must-plays, and do-not-plays. You can be as involved in the process as you like. Some couples want to share a full list, while others just give me the vibe and let me run with it. Before the big day, we’ll meet to confirm the vision and timeline. You can relax knowing the music will match the atmosphere you want to create.

Our crowd is all over the place. How do you get everyone dancing?

That’s where experience and instinct matter most. I read the room and find the perfect balance between generations, genres, and energy levels. I mix timeless favorites with current hits so every guest, from your college friends to your grandparents, feels part of the celebration.

How do you handle song requests?

I take your lead on this. We’ll talk about what feels right for your wedding. If you’re open to requests, I’ll take songs that fit the moment and vibe. If you’d rather not have requests, I’ll kindly handle that on your behalf and keep the focus on the music you’ve chosen.

Do you bring your own equipment & what’s included?

Yes. I bring my own professional sound system, plus backup equipment, to every event. What’s included depends on your package. The Reception covers about three hours of reception music, with announcements, music planning, and access to my DJ portal for your must-plays and do-not-plays. The Full Wedding Day adds ceremony coverage and cocktail hour, so the music carries through your whole day, from your vows to dinner and dancing.

Do you make announcements?

Yes, but never in a cheesy or over the top way. I make the announcements that matter, keep the flow smooth with your other vendors, and make sure the focus stays where it should be on you and your celebration.

Do you provide lighting or other services?

Yes. I offer a few upgrades you can choose from. Uplighting sets the mood and adds warmth to the space, while party lighting brings the dance floor to life. I also have a sleek, easy-to-use photo booth that adds a fun touch for your guests. These extras are not part of the main quote but can be added if you’d like to enhance the experience.

Do you only do weddings, or can we hire you for other events too?

I’m a DJ first and foremost, and I’ve built my career by being well-rounded. I started in nightlife, which taught me how to read any room and keep the energy right no matter the crowd. That experience translates into every type of event I do. Along with weddings, I also DJ corporate events, private parties, brand activations, and holiday celebrations.

Do you travel for weddings outside of New York City and the Hudson Valley?

Yes. I’m based in New York City and regularly DJ throughout the Hudson Valley, the Tri-State area, Upstate New York, and beyond. Wherever the celebration takes place, I bring the same level of care, preparation, and energy. Travel costs may apply outside New York City, including elsewhere in the Tri-State area.
